Belfair state park is named for the nearby city of Belfair, Washington.
The city was orignially named Clifton, but was renamed in 1925 by the postmaster who submitted the name Belfair from a book she was reading titled "St. Almo".

This is a photo of a seagull trying to teach a goose the Hokey Pokey. What does that have to do with Belfair state park history you ask... well, this happened at Belfair state park and it's in the past... and, I really wanted to use this photo somewhere.
You're welcome. -M.S.
